The biennal session is held in Paris on even years during one day at the end of August. All registred delegates can attend and participate to the discussions on the proposed preferencial subjects by the mean of prepared or spontaneous contributions.

CIGRÉ, through its Study Committees, organizes Colloquia on odd years. The last SC A2 Colloquium was held in Bruges, Belgium in 2007.
CIGRÉ participates on events organized by other associations with which CIGRÉ is in relation.
